eDiets Review – Is eDiets A Scam Or The Real Deal?
My guess is that if you’re reading this eDiets Review page, then you’re probably considering signing up to the eDiets meal delivery plan. Before you do, I highly recommend you read this review.
eDiets makes some pretty bold claims on their website. They say that you can lose 10 pounds in 5 weeks while eating what you like using customized weight loss goals and tracking. Below I’ll show you whether eDiets really does live up to it claims and what other people that signed up found…

What is eDiets?
eDeits is a meal planning and delivery service. They claim that they’ve “helped millions of people lose weight with over 20 plans”. How their service works is they create a (some-what automated) custom diet plan based on the information you give them. From this plan you then have a choice of menus, recipes and convenience foods they recommend for you to lose weight. If you sign up to their meal delivery program meals are then delivered to your home at predetermined dates. As part of their service they also provide live phone support from certified and registered dieticians, and there’s an online members’ community.
How Does eDiets Work?
The way eDiets is intented to help you lose weight is through their customized diet plans. As mentioned earlier, they create a diet plan for you based on the information you give them. The cost of creating your plan is $17.96 for 4 weeks and this includes access to the members area. Using the information in your plan they also recommend a selection of foods you can eat to help you lose weight. If you like, you can also sign up to their meal delivery program, where they deliver meals from your plan so you have to spend less time going out to buy and prepare them. This comes at an additional cost depending on the meal plan you sign up to.
Research Results for eDiets
On their website eDiets display a number of success stories from individuals who have used their meal planning and deliver program to lose significant amounts of weight, however, they don’t provide much information as to what the average user’s results are.
Interestingly, when I researched some independent forums I found a number of negative user experiences with eDiets including…
“Terrible food, terrible service, poor delivery practises, and mislabled food packages… They can’t guarantee specific date deliveries…”
Bishop1965, review on Epinions.com
“I ordered the Ediet for four weeks. The snacks were never the ones they show on line. They were always substituted by trail mixes and lesser quality products. Don’t expect your food meals to come as you order either.”
Limei, review on Epinions.com
I also came across a number of complaints about people struggling to get the help they wanted from their customer service.
Of all the customer reviews I read there were some positive experiences, but my overall findings were that a lot of people were frustrated with one or more elements of their service.

Advantages of eDeits
• The diet plan is not just a generic one, it is customized around your personal needs
• Live phone support from certified and registered dietitians
• Large online community
• Some big success stories
Disadvantages of eDiets
• Many people have reported problems in dealing with customer services
• Sometimes eDiets will provide incorrect food deliveries
• Some people have experience billing issues when cancelling their orders
• Delivery is not always on the desired day
The Final Verdict
The idea behind eDiets is a great one… Get a diet plan customized to your own personality and then have them deliver the food when you want it.
But having reviewed what a lot of customers have said, unfortunately not everyone experienced the service this way. There were some people who had incredible results with eDiets and lost a lot of weight, but there were also many others who had problems with getting their food orders delivered on time, difficulties when wanting to change or cancel their billings and ineffective customer service to help with these problems.
Overall, based on actual consumer feedback, this is not the weight loss program I would first recommend to someone looking to lose weight.
